This morning, the staff at Steelweld Fabrications Ltd were treated to a selection of hot food, cakes and buns as part of the 'Big Breakfast' event organised by the Company's Charity Committee.
Bronagh Graham, Human Resources Manager said: "We're delighted with the fantastic support we received from the local companies who donated hot food, cakes, buns and condiments. We are overwhelmed by the generosity and support of our employees who helped raise such a fantastic amount during our first event-a great indicator of what's to come during the fundraising year."
Steelweld Staff will hold several fundraising events throughout the year to raise vital funds for Marie Curie.
Sandra Spence, Marie Curie Community Fundraiser said: "Delighted to attend the launch of Steelweld's charity of the year partnership with Marie Curie this morning. Their calendar of events kicked off with all the employees attending a Big Breakfast which raised a fantastic £605.00 in their 30 minute break - an amazing start to the partnership. All of the money raised will be used to provide care and support through terminal illness. A warm welcome, delicious food and good craic whilst raising much needed funds for Marie Curie - already looking forward to their next event on the calendar. Well done to the Charity Committee and all at Steelweld."
